Description
Hi
I set up some files to be erased at re boot which I now Don't want it to do. I deleted the tasks of the scheduler so that it is blank and it still erases them at every re boot.
I saved the 'blank' (deleted) schedule and then reloaded (imported) them and it still does it.
This is now 'bugging' me, any ideas please.
Regards
Andy

Hi Robbie
Thanks for the reply.
I just checked again in Edit - Preferences - General - Scheduler and everything is UN checked so it's not that.
the later versions of Eraser also have an option to solve the problem of locked files by running eraser at startup
Yes I have that version but If I try to erase something and it can't it asks me if I would like to on the next restart. As I haven't used eraser for a few days (I use another program, and eraser every now and then) it can't possible think I want to erase something on reboot because it has never asked me.
Saying that though under 'Edit - Preferences - General' there is a tab that says 'locked files, enable resolving of file locking(try lcearing after re start)' obviously that shouldn't apply to me as I have not asked it to clear anything but I will uncheck that box as see if that 'sorts things' out over the next few days...
Thanks
Regards
Andy

Hi
Just an update.
What ever you tick / untick it still erases at boot up even thought there are no scheduled tasks, a bug obviously.
Maybe an unistall then clean up would it but I can't be asked at the moment. Probably go back to the old version.
Cheers
Andy

What do you mean by setting files up for erasing at reboot? Hm, I'm seeing this quite a few times - how did you do it?

OK, it does seem like a bug.

Do you have Eraser set to run at startup?
On my version of eraser the option is at:
Edit - Preferences - General - Scheduler
unclick Start Scheduler At Windows Startup
there's also an option to enable running of scheduled tasks, but I still have that set with a tick in the box.
the later versions of Eraser also have an option to solve the problem of locked files by running eraser at startup - which can also be turned off via the options.
