Tasks name excessive when alot of files selected to be removed in one go

Reported by: dmurgy Owned by: Joel
Priority: minor Milestone: Eraser 6.1/6.2
Component: User Interface (UX) Version: 6.0.6.1376
Keywords: Cc:
Processor Architecture: i386 (32-bit) Blocked By:
Blocking: Operating System: Windows Vista

Description

If you select say 30 files for deletion then the filename shown in the tray icon message and the scheduler screen starts to show all 30 filenames.

Perhaps a more generic name should be use for display purposes.

Or

Perhaps each file should be queued up as an individual tasks but onle a single notification is done (tray icon message) that many tasks have been created.

I think that the best solution will be to pick the first item, the "median" item and the last item as the name. What do you think?

I don't know. I prefer a more generic name but you ideal would work.

Could you suggest a generic name?

  • Status changed from pending to new

How about the following:

1st line contains 1st file selected
2nd line contains something like "+30 additional files"

  • Status changed from new to accepted
  • Milestone changed from Eraser 6.0.7 to Eraser 6.1/6.2

That's even better, thanks! I'll implement it in Trunk (so it'll be a 6.2 feature, since 6.0 is now in the "bugfix" stage)

Alternatively, you could implement a patch and post it here. Thanks!
