“It's just that your graphics adapter is old(er).”
Ha ha, oh dear, the shame of it all !! ha ha !!
Well it is a MSI Nvidia FX5600 TD256. (Hot stuff when I bought it !).
Is that really considered vintage nowadays ? Oh, I am so embarrassed !
I would have thought it should have been able to handle the scrolling screen though, there surly must be worse cards than mine around !
Thanks anyway.

Yeah there are. My integrated gfx card on my laptop struggles with that... I'll be optimising it soon. The 5600 is still pretty decent in most aspects though! Just that scrolling invoves a lot of memory copies and is therefore CPU and graphics intensive.

It's just that your graphics adapter is old(er). Really. That scrolling effect is pretty expensive on our part (I've not optimised it yet) so when full screen the amount of data transferred for screen redraws is really a big lot.
I'll optimise it in future.
